CEO World Magazine ranked Connecticut’s Hartford-East Hartford-Middletown region as being the metro with the second-highest salaries in the U.S.
The ranking took into consideration salary as well as cost-of-living differences to put the nationwide comparison on an even playing field.
In the No. 2 ranked Hartford region, the median earnings of a full-time worker (adjusted for cost of living) is $60,357, according to CEO World.
The median salary has gone up by 18 percent since 2010.
The cost of living in Connecticut, compared to the national average is 2.1 percent higher.
Neighboring Massachusetts was on the top 10 list, too. The Boston metro area ranked 4 with the median adjusted average salary there being $59,046. The cost of living is 14.25 percent higher than the national average.
The place with the highest salaries in the nation is the San Jose-Sunnyvale-Santa Clara, California area where the median adjusted earnings are $67,727.
